Before I leave you...

Hello Students! I can't wait to leave my backyard and see the wetlands of Louisiana! I hope you'll visit my blog often and send me your questions. I promise to send you pictures, and tell you all about what I'm doing.

Before I go, we need to learn about wetlands and why they're important. Together, we'll learn about the plants and animals of the wetlands, and also about hurricanes! Remember that in 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans and really affected the environment.

For 10 days when I'm in New Orleans, we can ask real scientists questions about the wetlands and the caterpillars they're researching. I'm counting on you to ask good questions. Together we'll have a great time! Check back often, I'll be waiting to hear from you.

Your blog looks great and so do the boots!

One month from today we'll be heading for the swamp.
